Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer Hotel & Campground

Wow, this place is amazing! We were intrigued with what staying in a travel trailer would be like, so we booked a vintage Airstream. It was completely renovated and was cute and very comfortable. They provided fresh coffee with pour over and loose leaf tea in our unit, and fresh baked cookies in the morning. We loved our stay and definitely will return.

I work at a senior living home facility specializing in Memory Care services and I take my residents out every month to different restaurants. I called to speak with a manager about going to this location and she was very rude to me on the phone and said she would not accommodate my group of residents. This place is not senior friendly and that says a lot about a business. I do not recommend.

We were not sure about this and needed a room for a night en route to Ojai. This was perfect. From the time Danielle checked us in and very graciously got us hot coffee (when it was too late in the day) to cheerfully telling us what to do and where to eat---this airstream (Vintners) was like staying at 4 star room and the people around you were people like you----just chilling out with their families. You felt comfortable, relaxed and safe and glad that we came here and not a usual hotel room. It is also a short walk away from the beach, boardwalk and eating places..

It was simply the best. The reservation was easy, the communication was straight forward, check in was quick and smooth, and the trailer we rented (The Copperhead) was super cool, clean and comfortable! We called about 30 minutes prior to arrival and Melissa gave us easy directions (and gate code), met us upon arrival and was helpful from check in to check out, and she was so smiley:). Our trailer was right against the train tracks so fun to watch the train go by; train runs about 7AM-10PM (and is actually pretty quiet coming into town - part of the charm of the place for sure). There were lots of family and kids so sweet energy all around. We walked to pizza at the brewery across the tracks (owned I think by same people who own the resort trailer park), and it was fun with pizza that was pretty decent. Given the choice of a hotel or this funky little resort in the future, there is no competition; we would stay here 100%. Thanks Melissa. BTW, our trailer was super clean; please folks - leave your housekeeper a few bucks (maybe $5-10/day for your stay).

We had a lovely, short stay at Waypoint! We stopped for on night on our way to San Francisco and found it to be the perfect spot. We loved all of the unique details of the property and the accommodations were more than comfortable. The grounds were impeccably well kept and offer fire pits, corn hole, and free bicycles to explore the neighborhood. We were surprised to find we were just a short walk from lots of food and fun, with easy access to local restaurants and a short walk to Ventura Pier, all of which we took advantage of during our short stay. We stayed in Unit 34-Mojave and throughly enjoyed it. The layout was great, it felt super spacious and the bed was more far more comfortable than the fancy resort hotel bed we found at our next destination. Our only complaint was the size and position of the mirror in the bathroom, which was low and small making it difficult to see when getting ready. Every interaction we had with staff, from the before check-in call to share their secure gate code, to check-in and check-out were positive and friendly. We loved the fresh baked cookies upon arrival and their morning tea and coffee bar was a great touch! The lemon meringue tea was delicious. Should we find ourselves back in Ventura, we will absolutely stay again!

It is with mixed feelings that we leave this review. We’d like this place to be our own little secret. We live full time in our 30ft Airstream and need a place to winter near Ventura. Waypoint Ventura was such a gem of a find that we extended our last stay twice and already booked again for later this year. It will be our go-to winter location. The grounds are fabulous with such a cool vibe. The morning coffee is something to look forward to. The walk to downtown or the beach takes only minutes. Best of all is the fabulous staff. Joy and Danielle and their entire staff are so friendly and helpful. As a reviewer stated, be careful following map apps. As you carefully cross the railroad tracks from Ash Street, take a wide but sharp turn to the left and follow the frontage road with the tracks on your left. At the very end, you’ll see the Waypoint sign. Can’t miss it. If you’re staying in your own Airstream or vintage trailer, the hotel trailers make a great place for trailer-less family or friends to visit with you. Enjoy.
